ABOUT MARK

The person I am and the life I've lived are a reflection of the decent, hardworking people of the 10th Bristol District. I grew up here. I raised my family here. I owe this community everything.
As your State Representative, I've seen firsthand the challenges our families, seniors, and young people face every day. The rising costs of healthcare, utilities, housing, and childcare are real and no one should ever have to choose between their basic needs.
I'm committed to fighting for our schools, our municipalities, public safety, our fishing and agriculture industries, our small businesses, our veterans, and our seniors. I will keep pushing for commonsense solutions that make life more affordable, more secure, and more hopeful for every person in our district.
I've spent my first term bringing people together to solve problems and deliver meaningful outcomes. I believe you deserve a representative who truly shows up which is why I hold office hours every month in all six communities: Acushnet, Fairhaven, Marion, Mattapoisett, New Bedford, and Rochester and have attended more than 400 local events in my first term.
And I make it a priority to communicate how and why I vote on the issues that matter most to our district, because transparency isn't optional. It's the job.
I was the first freshman Representative to have a bill signed into law. I have convened round tables with the Governor and Lieutenant Governor to discuss the challenges our regional aquaculture and agriculture businesses face. I have fought for immediate rate payer relief from daunting utilitiy bills. I have advocated for safety improvements along the Route 6 corridor. And I've secured over 1.2 Million dollars in funding for local
priorities including the Slocum Road project in Acushnet, COA kitchen upgrade in Fairhaven, gymnasium improvements at Old Rochester Regional
High School and website updates for Rochester, among other important efforts.
Backed by decades of experience in the public and private sectors, I've fought to ensure our district gets the resources and respect it deserves and I'm just getting started.
The people of the 10th Bristol are unwavering in their commitment to doing the right thing and supporting one another and I am proud to bring those values with me to Beacon Hill.
I'm running for Re-Election because there is more work to be done, and we need effective leaders with experience and sense of urgency up in Boston. I am proud of what we’ve accomplished so far and am driven to continue that work!
I believe in the strength of our communities. I know that when we work together, we can tackle the rising costs of housing, healthcare and energy, protect our fundamental rights and promote the amazing people and places we call home. Serving the 10th Bristol District is the honor of my life and I'm asking for your support to continue this work.
But I can't do it alone. Please join us.
Mark Sylvia
