PERSONAL ENDORSEMENTS
Mrs. Joseph, 1st-grade teacher at Anthony School in Fairhaven, class of 1981, endorses Mark Sylvia
“I am writing to endorse my former first-grade student, Mark Sylvia, as our state representative for the 10th Bristol District seat.
Mark was always a terrific student, full of energy and a love for learning! With his "John John" haircut and constant smile, he participated in every activity, from square dancing to singing and even playing an exceptionally cute flower in our class play, “Stop That Pancake!” I know, as a dad, he made sure to buy his own children his favorite record, “Halloween!”
Mark’s love for reading and writing was apparent early on. Although we lived near each other in Fairhaven, we became pen pals the summer after first grade. I’ll never forget my surprise at receiving that first letter! His writing and communication skills definitely improved!!
But it was Mark’s leadership skills that stood out, even at a young age. His kindness and care for his classmates were extraordinary, always ready to lend a helping hand. He was liked by everyone and was a friend to all.
Mark was also articulate and never at a loss for words! Even at six, he had a knack for "debating" to make his point with friends or with me... and he usually won!
Mark was made for this role. From early on, I could see that his career would be dedicated to helping people in his community. He has the energy, talent, knowledge, and integrity to move our district forward in a positive way.”
Please vote for Mark Sylvia!
Sincerely,
Susan Joseph
Mark Sylvia has been endorsed by Mrs. Rogers Kindergarten teacher of Anthony School class of 1980
"From Kindergarten I knew that Mark was a good talker and also a great listener. Following him through his education and on to his career, I can see now how those skills have been important to help him be successful and will be important as State Rep. He is responsible, dependable, and is the best choice for our district."
Letter To the Editor
Fellow Fairhavenites,
It isn’t often that I look to our statewide elections with the kind of excitement that I have this year. And it isn’t often that we have the opportunity to elect someone new that we know without hesitation will get things done for our community. That opportunity is here right now, and I know that Mark Sylvia is the person for the job.
Growing up in the same community as Mark, I have seen the dedica tion he has for service to others. From a very early age he exhibited the kind of selfless leadership that leaves others feeling like he hears what each person is saying, and considers their perspectives important. He takes that attention to those voices and the information helps drive his actions in such a way that he is able to address issues with solu tions that make the most sense for all.
He seeks out answers and I have seen how he strives to understand all perspectives, considering the information seriously and researching well to make decisions. All of this is done with a conviction that is determined to do what is best for the community. I believe wholeheartedly that will translate to our entire district in the role of State Representative.
And while he is thoughtful and deliberate, he is also decisive and stands by his choices. He is able to face difficult situations with an honesty and humor that helps move challenging situations forward, and he is fair in his assessment and actions as he tackles tough situa tions. Over the years as he has moved through the various roles he has played professionally, I believe it has led him to this place, where we as a community and district have the chance to truly benefit from his experience.
He will hit the ground running and never look back, and that is critically important at this time in our district, where so many things are happening that could provide tremendous opportunity for our region if navigated well. Mark has the ability to be the one to make those things happen.
It has been a privilege to watch Mark succeed, as the kind of person who can lead by example, with kindness and appreciation for anyone he meets. He is the kind of candidate that can help cross aisles and bring civility back to the work of government. That is why I wholeheartedly support Mark Sylvia for State Repre sentative and I hope you will too.

Sylvia Will Champion Policies that Benefit All
I am writing to express my strong support for Mark Sylvia’s candidacy in the upcoming election, for state representative in the 10th Bristol District. As our community faces pressing challenges, we need leaders who will champion policies that benefit all residents. Mark Sylvia is that leader.
Most important to me is Mark’s approachability and professionalism. Mark sincerely cares about our community and will listen to people of the 10th district regardless of your political beliefs. As our town moderator, he has been a consummate professional, navigating our town meetings through difficult conversations with grace and diplomacy. These skills will serve him well in the state house.
Moreover, I agree with his positions on housing reform, controlling the cost of childcare, and healthcare affordability.
In particular, his stance against divisive politics and book bans shows he will defend our fundamental freedoms and right to access information. As a longtime school librarian and advocate for intellectual freedom, this is important to me.
Mark Sylvia has the vision, values, and knowledge to move our community forward. I encourage all voters to learn more about his platform and consider giving him their support on election day.

A Homecoming
Having known Mark Sylvia his entire life, I fully support his run for State rep in the 10th Bristol District. We are both life-long residents of this beautiful community. There may be many years difference in our ages, but we both know how important this town is, as well as the entire district.
I remember Mark helping on my husband’s campaign when he was only 10 years old. He would arrive with his parents and hold signs full of enthusiasm to help our effort in any way that he could. He was so excited to do anything he could to support my husband in his goal to get electedto this state rep seat. This very well may have been the start of Mark’s political career.
Mark has always given back to his town, community, and continues to do so each day. Today, I see that same spirit and energy in his own campaign for the same seat. I know that there is no better candidate for this spot and I know that he will give his all to this position and make us so proud here in our hometown. His commitment to the campaign now makes my family and me very glad to know him and support his efforts.
I hope that everyone in the 10th Bristol District knows how lucky we are that Mark stepped up to run fort his seat. He will give his all, as he has always done, starting at a young age, and will listen to our concerns, thoughts and ideas. He will head to Boston and make sure that we are all very well represented.
